Our New Home

Here are some pictures of our new place in Fort Wayne. We went this last week for a couple of days to look for a rental. It was not as easy as we were hoping! But thankfully, we found a really nice guy (Way to be Brad!) who is letting us rent this home he was hoping to sell. I think he is hoping that we will want to buy it before our lease is up, and who knows maybe we will... (buy and resell it). Anyway, it has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a two car garage! The living room has all the hookups for surround sound which Joe was really happy about.

And there is a patio off the kitchen, with a fenced in yard in the back (you can see just a little bit of the fence in the picture). The house is located in a subdivision, but it is a pretty nice one and not too busy. The front yard is landscaped, and I can put some flowers in the back! We are just going to have to buy a push lawn mower, as well as a washer and dryer... and we are all set! So if anyone decides to head down to the 'Fort' feel free to crash with us :)

Now THIS is summer

We've had beautiful weather for the past couple of days and everything is starting to get color. The UP has to be one of the nicest places to be in the summer, since its rarely unbearably hot. There's water all around for swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking, etc..
In my mind, there's no better place to be. I'm already bugging Shannon about buying property up here. Ideally, I'd have 40 acres of wilderness right next to some national forest (maybe throw a creek or a pond in there). We could just build a cozy cabin and retire. This is my goal in life.
Vern was showing a particular interest in a Tulip this afternoon, so we snapped a few pictures.

Joe Graduated...And We Have A Job!

Joe graduated on Saturday (the first and only person to graduate from Tech with his degree)! The ceremony took what seemed like forever. Turns out it was about 3 hrs long. Sitting on a hard seat for 3 hrs... you can imagine how that makes your bum feel. Mom and Dad Kirklin came up for a quick visit, but they had to leave Sunday to get back for work. So now it is Joe and I, sitting around wondering what to do with ourselves :) It is a good feeling!

In all actuality we don't really have much time to kick back and relax. Joe got the job at Sweetwater Sound in Fort Wayne, Indiana! And so that is where we are headed. He will be starting work the 4th of June, and basically the rest of this month is going to be filled with packing, finding a place to rent down there, moving, unpacking... stress!! Overall it's exciting to be moving. We are both ready for a change of pace. Joining the 'real' working world is going to be an adjustment from the student life we have been living the past 4-5yrs :) No more late nights and even later mornings :) Oh well we had to grow up sometime!

This picture is of Joe getting his degree, but it is kinda hard to make out!

I Did It :)

Well it is finally done... no more school :) Mom and Dad Sayers came up with my lil sister for the weekend. It was a good time... I am just so relieved that it is over. Next it's Joe's turn to walk and get his degree and than we are out of here! Unfortunately we are still at a stand still with that. It is going to be between Midland and Fort Wayne, IN. We are still waiting to here from Sweetwater (which we should know by the end of the week). I did get a call back, surprisingly, from a hospital in Honolulu, HI :) But unless we both had jobs done there we could never make that work... way to expensive to live! Alright I will quite jabbering... BYE
